A Feast for the Eyes and the Bees
in the Local Natural Garden …

So many things just can’t be planned—they just happen, and in the end, they turn out surprisingly wonderful. That’s exactly what just happened to me.

No sooner had the current exhibition at the Dachau Wasserturm wrapped up than I received an offer to exhibit there again and screen a short film from a youth film competition I’d mentored years ago.

Why? Because the theme was supposed to be bees, insects, and the like—and the contribution they make to all of us. And that was exactly what the short film was about—well, you could almost call it a little animated science-fiction film from 2018. It also addressed the fact that, according to experts, it’s important to plant flowering plants in protected, natural areas.

And I could display a few of my fine art pieces—right at the top, directly under the historic roof truss.

Sure—I’d love to—flowering plants in sheltered areas—as if that’s not right up my alley! So let’s head out to the garden—with my camera, of course.
And there was certainly no reason to complain about a lack of blooms in the fruit, vegetable, and herb garden this year.

That’s exactly why there ended up being so many—no, a great many—fine art pieces, all of which are now on display in the special atmosphere beneath the wooden roof that tapers sharply upward. It feels cozy somehow—during the design and installation of the roughly 25 works in total—including an assemblage.
