ICM Intensive Photography Course

Multi-day tour: City, countryside, and river around Dachau near Munich

From the city of artists to the Bavarian countryside – masterfully using motion blur

“Intensive Multi-Day Workshop”
Limited to 3 to a maximum of 6 participants
Can also be booked on a per-day basis
Special on July 18 and 19, 2026:
2-hour trial session at a special price

By popular demand: ICM at its purest!
“Intentional Camera Movement”—we move the camera in a very deliberate way and capture the atmosphere of the moment exactly as it presents itself to us. We don’t stage anything—we react. To light, colors, shapes, and impressions. The interplay of all these elements results in images that can never be captured exactly the same way a second time.

We’ll be surprised at the effects that can be achieved simply through skilled camera movement. This makes expensive special lenses, multiple exposures, or time-consuming post-processing using layering techniques and the like unnecessary.

The results look more natural, more emotional, more authentic—and uniquely personal.

To achieve this, I carefully select locations that offer us a variety of subjects and settings.

Urban charm with architectural details, tree-lined avenues, parks, riverside scenery, and natural elements, all set against the wonderful colors and shapes of the Dachau countryside—there’s something for every taste and style.

This workshop is for anyone who wants to try out or explore ICM photography further—and is curious about the creative and abstract forms of expression that can emerge from it.

Halfway through the workshop, we’ll intentionally set aside time to catch our breath: time for individual experimentation, to deepen your understanding of what we’ve covered so far—or simply to take a break. If you’d like, I’ll provide photographic suggestions to spark your inspiration. Afterward, we’ll immerse ourselves in the evening light together and use the special atmosphere to capture moving ICM shots.

Räuber-Kneißl-Tour - Best Spots

Hidden Gem: Summer, light & perspectives in the Dachau Hinterland – no matter which camera you use

Workshop
limited to only 3 to max. 6 participants

This is not your average workshop – every year, I put together a new selection of beautiful spots: real hidden gems in the Dachauer Hinterland.
Let yourself be surprised and rediscover the countryside with a fresh eye – bold, free, and far from the ordinary.

No matter what kind of camera you bring – whether it’s a smartphone, compact, bridge, mirrorless or DSLR:
What really counts here is the joy of summer, being outdoors, and seeing the world from fresh perspectives

Instead of crowds, an atmospheric backdrop awaits you in the Dachau Hinterland – a place where artists‘ colonies once operated and along which a popular cycle path now runs, named after Bavaria’s most likeable robber who grew up in this area.

Perfection is not required – but the joy of trying things out! With practical tips, you’ll easily find your way from just ‘snapping’ to atmospheric snapshots – regardless of whether you share them later on social media or immortalise them in your holiday photo book.

I will provide more details about the meeting point etc. after binding registration. This can be reached by car, bike or public transport.

And if you like, you can spontaneously stay after the workshop for free shots in the sunset – flexibly and at your own pace.

Suitable for beginners and advanced
and certainly for social media users, travel enthusiasts or simply for summer and nature lovers…
Basic knowledge of how to use your camera is desirable

99 EUR per person, per date

A date will be set—in consultation with those interested—as soon as at least two requests for the course have been received.

Creative Photo Walk at Lake Ammersee

Discover New Perspectives with ICM and Clear Visual Language

Day and weekend workshops on Bavaria’s Ammersee
Limited to just 3 to a maximum of 6 participants

Photography can be more than just capturing obvious subjects. Often, the most compelling images emerge precisely where you might not initially expect anything special.

This workshop focuses on conscious perception and clear, minimalist composition. The goal is to discover subjects that don’t immediately catch the eye—and to capture them through deliberate photography.

We work right on the shores of Lake Ammer and take our time focusing on specific areas rather than rushing from one location to another. This gives us the space to engage more deeply with our subjects, experiment with different perspectives, and develop our own visual ideas.

Our approach is practical and experimental: try things out, observe, and adapt.

One focus is on creative techniques such as ICM (Intentional Camera Movement). Deliberate camera movement creates intentionally designed blurring and abstract visual effects. This technique opens up new possibilities for depicting subjects independently of traditional sharpness.

Other experimental approaches can also be incorporated depending on your interests—always with the goal of expanding your own photographic expression.

This workshop is designed for people who want to explore more than just traditional ways of finding subjects. It’s for anyone who is open to new perspectives and willing to question their usual ways of seeing.

It’s not about perfection, but about a conscious approach to subject matter, composition, and technique.

The number of participants is intentionally limited. This ensures there is ample opportunity for individual work, discussion, and targeted support.

Outside of the group sessions, there is plenty of time to explore your own subjects in greater depth or simply continue taking photos at your own pace. The schedule is designed to allow for focused work without constantly having to change locations.

If you’re interested in exploring new approaches to photography and experiencing Lake Ammersee from a different perspective, you’ve come to the right place.

Suitable for beginners and advanced users
with bridge, system, or DSLR cameras… that allow for manual adjustment of aperture, shutter speed, and ISO.
Basic knowledge of how to use your camera is recommended

160 EUR per person and workshop day
300 EUR per person for the weekend

A date will be set—in consultation with those interested—as soon as at least two requests for the course have been received.
